Personally, though the weekend was fun I don’t think I really learned much that I didn’t already know from my previous experience. My advice would be if you’re already working in that area then you should try and do as much as possible in your current role and learn that way, e.g. try new tools or ways of working and build up your experience there. General assembly is really expensive for the evening courses and that’s why I’d say it’s possibly not the best. However, the coach for the bootcamp I attended went on to set up his own training company called Experience Haus and they are much more affordable (and he was a great coach) so you might want to check them out, I like this course: https://www.experiencehaus.com/product-design-ux-ui/
Alternatively you could come and work for the Civil Service as we have lots of great free training on this subject ;)
